A man opened fire at Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal at the entrance of the Golden Temple in Amritsar early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred as SAD leaders, including Badal, were offering ‘seva’ as part of the religious penance assigned to them by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The assailant was quickly overpowered by those present at the scene, and the police took him into custody. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack. As per reports, Badal remained unharmed during the incident.
