Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP), has established an advanced research center in digital health, robotics, and intelligent systems, utilizing edge computing, embedded systems, and AI.
The research hub will be located at the institute’s research park in New Town, Kolkata, and will have three cutting-edge laboratories, according to an official announcement from the IIT.
It will focus on sensing and communications, edge computing and analytics, and robotics and visual computing. According to the statement, more than 150 TCS scientists will be able to investigate cutting-edge technologies and push the frontiers of innovation.
TCS is transforming industry engagement with elite institutes of research and learning by co-locating research and innovation labs in academic institutions. The IIT Kharagpur Research Park will house the lab, funding several research programs.
The partnership aims to harness cutting-edge technologies to address healthcare and automation challenges. The center will foster groundbreaking research, interdisciplinary collaborations, and empower the next generation of technologists and researchers to shape the future.
