Jamia Millia Islamia’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) is now taking applications for its one-year Urdu language program.
The training is available in both Hindi and English, making it accessible to a larger audience.
For students in India, the one-year Urdu education at Jamia costs Rs 500. Applicants from SAARC nations must pay $20 (about Rs 1,694), while those from other countries must pay $50 (around Rs 4,214).
There is no tuition fee for the course, making it an affordable opportunity to learn the Urdu language.
Interested candidates can register for the course through the university’s official website. Applicants must fill in their details, including name, parent’s names, category, Aadhaar number, date of birth, and address.
They can also choose their preferred language for the application form.
Alternatively, candidates can obtain the admission form and detailed prospectus from the office of the Honorary Director of Urdu Correspondence Course, CDOE, Jamia Millia Islamia, by sending a self-addressed 24—12 cm envelope stamped with a Rs 10 postage stamp.
This one-year programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Urdu language and literature. The course helps students refine their linguistic skills, foster creativity, and enhance critical appreciation of Urdu literary texts.
Additionally, Jamia Millia Islamia’s CDOE offers a Master’s degree in Urdu for those seeking advanced learning. The programme aims to deepen insights into Urdu literature, enhance teaching and analytical skills, and improve proficiency in the language.
