Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received a huge round of applause amid thunderous “ek hai toh safe hai” chants by Bharatiya Janata Party’s MPs in Lok Sabha as a token of appreciation for the PM’s leadership that led to the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance’s thumping victory in the recently held Maharashtra assembly elections.
The treasury bench MPs welcomed PM Modi with chants of “Modi, Modi” and “ek hai toh safe hai” as he walked into the Lower House of the Parliament with folded hands and took his seat on the first day of Winter Session of the Parliament. The slogan- given by PM Modi during his campaigning in Maharashtra to overcome the caste division in the name of Hindutva-turned the tables for BJP in the recently held polls.

The Prime Minister criticized the opposition Congress for refusing to allow discussions in Parliament, stating that those who have been rejected by the people are those who control the Parliament through hooliganism. He emphasized that the people count all their actions and punish those who do not. The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on Monday, will continue until December 20 and will cover various issues, including the Waqf Act (Amendment) Bill.
