Kamala Harris Delivers Final Argument

On Tuesday, Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivered her campaign’s final argument from the Ellipse near the Capitol.

She expressed pride of being the vice president under Joe Biden’s presidency, Harris emphasized that her presidency will be different as the nation has new challenges nowadays.

In her address, Harris called herself a “uniter”, an advocate of the working people and a fierce protector and voiced her opposition to policies favoring the wealthy, contrasting herself with former President Donald Trump who she called as a “divider” and accused him of being “vulnerable to flattery and favours”.

“I have been honoured to serve as Joe Biden’s Vice President,” Harris said, “but I will bring my own experiences and ideas to the Oval Office. My presidency will be different, because the challenges we face are different. Our top priority as a nation four years ago was to end the pandemic and rescue the economy. Now our biggest challenge is to lower costs, costs that were rising even before the pandemic, and that are still too high”.

However, Trump and his team have linked Harris to the errors and shortcomings of Biden’s presidency. She’s struggled to distance herself from the President without appearing disrespectful. Harris has made few appearances alongside former President Barack Obama.

Kamala Harris made an approximately 30-minute address in which she compared Trump’s attitude to social issues with her own values and missions. She expressed concern that autocrats like North Korean leader Kim Jong (Un) and Russian President Vladimir Putin are supporting Donald Trump in this election, saying that he is a “easy mark, easy to manipulate with flattery or favor.” She pledged to protect national security, promote the interests of the country, and guarantee that America would always be a global champion of liberty.
