Beyoncé Endorses Kamala Harris with Bold Speech—What Did She Say?

The 2024 US presidential election is just a few days away, and a number of celebrities are showing their support for the candidates they like. Pop sensation Beyonce has now openly shown her support for Kamala Harris, joining the likes of Taylor Swift, John Legend, Jimmy Carter, Cher, Bruce Springsteen, and Steph Curry. Beyonce gave a statement introducing Harris and expressing her faith in the candidate, saying that Harris will help put America back on track, during a Democratic campaign rally in Houston on Friday.

In her speech, Beyonce, the mother of three – a daughter Blue Ivy, 11, and twins Rumi and Sir, 7, expressed her concerns about the country. She also hailed Kamala Harris as “the woman who’s been pushing for what this country really needs right now — unity.” Further heaping praises on Harris, Beyonce credited her for the energy, positivity, community and humanity that she brings in the room.

Beyonce addressed Kamala Harris as a mother instead of calling her a celebrity or a politician. “A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in,” said the pop star about Harris. Continuing, she urged everyone to imagine a world where “women have freedom over their bodies — a world where daughters can see what’s possible without limits.”

Further asking everyone to remember the sacrifices made by their grandmother and those who have now died, Beyonce told them to keep in mind “the strength of a woman standing in her power, reimagining what leadership is.”

Concluding her speech, she mentioned, “For all the men and women in this room and watching around the country, we need you.”

Earlier, Beyonce also let Kamala Harris use her song, Freedom, in her first campaign video which was released in July. The song was also used as Harris’ entry song at several events. The singer has supported Democratic candidates in the past as well. Not only did she sing the national anthem at former US President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2013 but also posted a social media clip in 2020, aiming at encouraging supporters of President Joe Biden.
