Ajay Jadeja, a former batting backbone for India, has been going through a remarkable metamorphosis. He was recently elevated from being a cricket celebrity to assuming a royal throne on the occasion of Dussehra (October 12).
For those who were unaware, the royal family declared Jadeja to be the heir apparent to the Jamnagar throne. Notably, the well-known city has a long history and is located in the Gujarat state. As a result, it was said that the 53-year-old Indian cricketer had overtaken legendary batsman Virat Kohli.
Kohli’s net worth is estimated to be about INR 1,000 crore. After accepting the royal obligations, Jadeja’s net worth has increased to INR 1,450 crore. According to the Freepress Journal, after ascending to the throne, the erstwhile legend is now the richest cricketer in India.
Maharaja Shatrusalyasinh Jadeja, who is also his uncle, is the uncle of Ajay Jadeja. On the auspicious day of the Dussehra festival, he issued a press statement formally appointing the former as his legal successor. The Maharaja’s cousin brother is Ajay’s father, Daulatsinghji. Additionally, from 1971 to 1984, he held the position of honorary Member of Parliament. In reference to his marriage association, it is reported that he was married into Nepal’s royal family but later separated from them.
Interestingly, Shatrusalyasinhji also has a rich cricketing connection. He was the Captain of the Saurashtra team and led the side during the 1966-67 season of the Ranji Trophy. Furthermore, he also managed the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) as its head as well. In the same year (1966) he also became the Head of Nawanagar (Jamnagar) on February 3 after the demise of his father. Incredibly, the cricket connection runs deep in the family and was not just limited to the current Maharaja.
