The speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, and vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar have expressed their condolences for the passing of entrepreneur Ratan Tata and praised his role in creating an independent India.
On Wednesday night, Ratan Tata, the 86-year-old chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, one of the largest businesses in India, passed away.
Ratan Tata, according to Mr. Dhankhar, is a legendary figure in Indian business whose efforts to the nation’s independence will serve as an ongoing source of inspiration for businesspeople both inside and outside of India.
“Bharat would miss him very dearly as ‘the legend’ of Indian industry leaves behind a lasting legacy,” the vice president secretariat stated on X, citing Mr. Dhankhar.
“The simplicity, vision and service spirit of Ratan Tata will remain a source of inspiration for ages. His demise is an irreparable loss to the country,” he posted on X.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal described Ratan Tata as “anmol” or precious Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the era of visionary leadership has come to an end.
“He has left behind an irreplaceable void. His remarkable contributions have not only transformed industries but also elevated India onto the global pedestal of innovation and excellence,” he wrote on X.
