Check out India’s full schedule and timings in IST for Day 1 action at the Paris Olympics 2024. India’s shooting team will be in the spotlight early on Saturday, starting with the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta, along with Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh, will aim for medals in this event.
The top four teams from the qualifiers will move on to the medal matches. The first and second-placed teams will compete for gold, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete for bronze. Arjun Singh Cheema, Sarajbot Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan will also participate in the 10m air pistol events, with only the qualifiers scheduled for Day 1.
In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, India had its largest shooting team with 15 athletes. However, only pistol shooter Saurabh Chaudhary made it to the finals, while the rifle shooters didn’t perform as expected.
The Indian hockey team will start their campaign in Pool B against New Zealand. In badminton, Lakshya Sen will play in the men’s singles group match, followed by Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the men’s doubles. Later in the day, veteran Rohan Bopanna will begin his final Olympic appearance in the men’s doubles alongside N Sriram Balaji.
