After reports surfaced claiming that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was arrested in Dubai, the Pakistani singer dismissed the claims as “fake.”
According to Geo News, which cited Dubai police sources, the singer was supposedly arrested following a defamation complaint by his former manager, Salman Ahmed. However, in a video posted on the microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), Rahat Fateh Ali Khan denied these reports, calling them baseless and false.
Geo News sources mentioned that Salman Ahmed had filed complaints against Rahat with the Dubai authorities. The dispute arose after Rahat dismissed Ahmed a few months earlier, leading to both of them filing cases against each other.
In the video, Rahat stated, “I am in Dubai to record songs. My songs are doing very well here. Everything is fine. I would like to request you all not to pay heed to fake news. My audience is my power.”
Earlier this year, Rahat was involved in another controversy when a viral video showed him allegedly beating a man, whom he claimed was his disciple, with a shoe. The video also showed people trying to pull Rahat away from the man to stop the assault.
The man in the video was identified as an employee of Pakistani broadcaster Samaa TV, who expressed concern over the rise in violent behavior among singers. An X user posted the video with a caption stating, “Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was caught abusing his servant. Later, he gave an explanation.”
