The two corridors, which span 20.70 km, will connect key parts of south and central Delhi. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Delhi Metro stations, Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block, Indraprastha to Inderlok Delhi News, India News, and Indian Express India News, Indian Express.

“The entire work is going on at a very fast pace… the aim is to get clearances and start the construction soon, by the end of this year,” according to an official.Construction on Delhi Metro’s two new Phase IV corridors — Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block and Indraprastha to Inderlok — is expected to begin by the end of the year, according to officials.Approval for the two corridors was received from the Centre recently.

The two corridors , covering a length of 20.70 km, will provide connectivity to several parts of South and Central Delhi.The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), meanwhile, has sped up preliminary work on the two corridors. Alignment work, under which surveys and studies are conducted to assess the routes from where the corridor will pass, its connecting points, and the statutory clearances it would need in the section, has been completed, said officials.

 DMRC is currently attempting to obtain legislative permissions from the various departments involved, authorities noted.
“DMRC is currently obtaining statutory clearances, including land purchase, from the relevant authorities. Forest clearances and tree-cutting permits are also being obtained at the proper levels,” stated a senior DMRC official.Officials stated that additional steps for civil construction planning and tendering are currently underway.

“The job is moving quickly. The goal is to obtain clearances and begin construction as soon as possible, by the end of the year,” said an official.

The Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block corridor is designed to connect Andrews Ganj, Greater Kailash 1, Chirag Dilli, Pushpa Bhawan, Pushp Vihar, Saket District Centre, and Saket G Block.Meanwhile, the Indraprastha corridor would connect various government offices (including the Delhi Secretariat), a railway station (Sarai Rohilla), and a large hospital (Lok Nayak), as well as New Delhi, Nabi Karim, Dilli Gate, Daya Basti, and Ajmal Khan Park.

Furthermore, the Indraprastha-Inderlok Corridor will be the first Metro line to feature frequent interchange stations. There will be ten stations along the 12-kilometer stretch, with interchange facilities to other lines available at five of them: Blue Line (Delhi to Noida/Vaishali), Pink (Majlis Park to Maujpur), Magenta (Botanical Garden to Janakpuri), Yellow (Gurgaon to Samaypur Badli), and Red (Rithala to Ghaziabad New Bus Adda). On the other hand, the South Delhi corridor will serve as an interchange point for the Yellow, Magenta, Pink, and Violet lines.
