BTS member Jin proudly carried the Olympic flame through Paris as the first torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics, coinciding with Bastille Day, the French National Day. He represented the Republic of Korea during this historic event at the Louvre Museum.
Jin departed from Seoul on July 11 to participate in the torch relay. The flame, originally lit in Olympia, Greece on April 16, 2024, will arrive in Paris on July 26 for the start of the Olympics. Approximately 10,000 torchbearers, including Jin, are taking part in this relay across 400 cities in France and some overseas regions.
This momentous occasion follows Jin’s recent discharge from military service on July 12. Apart from the torch relay, he is gearing up to release a solo album this year and has finished filming for an MBC variety show called “The Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island,” set to air soon.
Upon his return from military service, Jin was warmly welcomed by his BTS bandmates J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and RM at a military base in Yeoncheon, South Korea on June 12. The band celebrated Jin’s return with a joyful reunion, sharing a photo on social media with balloons that read “Jin is back,” captioned with “I’m home.”
