Know the Reason Behind Pakistan Pacer Shaheen Afridi’s Heated Argument with Mohammad Yousuf

During Pakistan’s T20I tour of England before the recent T20 World Cup, there was a heated argument between Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf, according to sources from Geo News.

Reports indicated that coaches and management had complaints about Shaheen’s attitude during the tour, leading to discussions with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Sources confirmed that Shaheen and Yousuf had exchanged strong words during a training session, mainly over Shaheen’s repeated no-balls.

Shaheen was reportedly upset with Yousuf’s constant criticism and told him to focus on his own role as a coach. Yousuf reminded Shaheen of his responsibilities as a coach. However, the issue was resolved swiftly, with Shaheen apologizing to Yousuf afterward.

Sources emphasized that it was a momentary disagreement that was quickly resolved and didn’t escalate further. The incident was not formally reported to the PCB.

Recently, Naqvi met with white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten to discuss the team’s future, following criticism of Pakistan’s performance in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s upcoming schedule includes white-ball series against Australia starting in November and a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in August.
