RCB Coach Serves Reality Check To Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma Scores Maiden T20I Century Against Zimbabwe, Young Indian opener Abhishek Sharma showcased his talent in the second T20I against Zimbabwe, hitting his first T20I century in only his second match for the team.

After a disappointing start in the series opener, Abhishek bounced back with a spectacular performance, reminiscent of his IPL 2024 form. The 24-year-old started aggressively, smashing a six over deep backward square leg to kick off his innings. He went on to score 100 runs off just 47 balls, including seven boundaries and an impressive eight sixes.

Despite Abhishek’s outstanding innings, former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower cautioned him about his spot in the team, noting that Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to join the squad for the remaining matches.

“Well, Jaiswal is still joining the series, isn’t he? Such competition is what selectors and Indian fans look forward to. It adds excitement and is great for Indian cricket to have such options,” Flower remarked on Sony Sports.

Flower commended Abhishek for seizing the opportunity given to him by the selectors.

“He should be confident after such a strong IPL performance and now scoring a century in only his second international match. It’s crucial for young players to build confidence and belief in themselves. I’m delighted for him and excited to see more of him in this series,” Flower added.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal, along with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, will join the team for the remaining three matches. The trio was part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad and recently returned to India to celebrate with fans.
