Eden Gardens Plans Grand Celebration for Virat Kohli’s 35th Birthday

Virat Kohli, the iconic cricket superstar, will celebrate his 35th birthday on November 5, coinciding with the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and South Africa at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.

To honor the occasion, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has organized an extravagant celebration. Among the highlights of the celebration is the distribution of 70,000 masks featuring the Indian cricket icon, which will be provided to fans attending the match.

In addition to the mask distribution, the CAB has arranged a special gift for Kohli and a dazzling fireworks display during the innings break.

CAB President Snehasish Ganguly shared some insights about the preparations, saying, “We have ordered a cake for Virat, and the design will be something everyone identifies with Virat Kohli. I am not sharing the pictures yet, for let that be a surprise.”

Ganguly also revealed the fireworks show during the mid-innings interval, explaining, “It will be our way of celebrating his birthday, and our way of saying that the entire Kolkata crowd is part of the celebrations. We are sure of a full house, and everyone in the stands is a Virat fan. It is a gesture on behalf of all of them.”

Virat Kohli’s birthday celebrations will be in recognition of his exceptional performance in the ICC World Cup 2023. He has already scored a century and three half-centuries in six innings during the tournament.

With just one century away, Kohli is on the verge of equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time record of 49 ODI hundreds, highlighting his status as a modern-day cricket legend.

The Indian cricket team has been performing exceptionally well as a cohesive unit, with both batting and bowling departments delivering stellar results. Despite facing the absence of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya due to injury, India continues to dominate the tournament. It is expected that Hardik Pandya will return around the time of the semifinals.

Rohit Sharma has been in superb form, and the middle-order batsmen have consistently supported the team. India’s bowlers, particularly the pacers, have been instrumental in the team’s success, most notably in the demolition of defending champions England during their recent match in Lucknow.

India’s next challenge will be against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, where they will aim to continue their impressive run in the ICC World Cup 2023.
